Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall

Release Date: September 2026

What we do know is that it will be a tie-in to the larger Arcana Unleashed supplement and will be an adventure featuring the Red Wizards of Thay. The plot will apparently involve a massive war and will also offer new lore and info on the dreaded magic users.

Notably, a Red Wizards of Thay adventure was first announced way back in March 2023 at D&D Direct, but it’s not clear if this is the same content or something completely different.

Dark Sun Sourcebook (Unconfirmed)

Coming: TBD

What is it: While Wizards of the Coast has not confirmed this release, there are some signs that a new Dark Sun book is in the works, including the release of playtests for a new Psion class and Apocalyptic subclasses that contains the Gladiator Fighter, Circle of Preservation Druid, Defiler Sorcerer and Sorcerer-King Warlock, all of which are related to the Dark Sun setting. That suggests there’s a good chance we’ll see a new Athas sourcebook in 2027.

Final Thoughts

It’s important to note that the DnD release schedule for the remainder of 2025 may see changes in the coming months (in fact, we saw several major releases in 2024 shift due to printing and supply chain issues). That being said, Wizards of the Coast has been more efficient in recent launches, so it’s likely this release schedule won’t see any major significant shifts.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on new and upcoming DnD books in the days ahead and will update this page with more information as it’s made available.

Cameron Nichols is a Senior Editor who lives in Boston, Massachusetts, and has been playing D&D since the early 90s, when he was introduced by his older brother and cut his teeth on AD&D 2nd Edition. Since then he’s played virtually every RPG he could get his nerdy little mitts on (including a weird Goth phase in the early 2000s when he rocked Vampire: The Masquerade pretty hard). His favorite D&D campaign setting is the Forgotten Realms and his favorite character to play was a Half-Orc Barbarian named Grug (who was unfortunately devoured by a gelatinous cube).
