New Official D&D Xanathar Device Holder & Dice Tower Unveiled

If you’re a D&D fan who constantly misplaces your smartphone or video came controller, then you’re definitely the target audience for the Dungeons & Dragons: Xanathar Device Holder and Dice Tower Collectible. This new accessory will soon be funding on Gamefound and is being run by the UK-based EXG Pro; creators of what they dub as “functional collectibles” that feature licensed sculptures from IPs like Marvel, Star Wars and Minecraft that also double as holders for smartphones, ear buds and other electronic devices.

While the project hasn’t yet launched or been funded, it already has the backing of Wizards of the Coast and the official Dungeons & Dragons license. So is this new collectible worth adding to your hoard? Below, feast your eye stalks on all the details.

What is the Xanathar Device Holder and Dice Tower Collectible?

The new Xanathar:Device Holder and Dice Tower is an officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons collectible from EXG Pro that depicts infamous beholder crime lord from the Forgotten Realms. The piece will be part of EXG’s popular Cable Guys product line, and as such is meant to be both decorative and functional as it’s designed to hold phones, video game controllers, remotes and other devices, while also serving as a dice tower for tabletop play.

In terms of size, it’s approximately 9 inches tall and about 7 inches wide. It also includes a range of extras details on the base, including treasure, magical tomes and Xanathar’s beloved pet goldfish Sylgar. Notably, the book shelf (which is what actually holds your device) can also be rotated around the sculpture, offering a bit more utility. Each sculpture will also come with an official certificate of authenticity as only a limited number will be produced.

What are the backer options on Gamefound?

While we don’t yet know how much the new Xanathar device holder/dice tower is going for, their popular Cable Guys collectibles (which include large brands such as Star Wars, Marvel and Disney) retail for around $40 USD (not including shipping and handling), so the backer options are probably going to be in this range (notably, this is the first official crowdfunding campaign EXG Pro has ever launched). We do, however, know that there are three tiers of backer support of Gamefound that feature various bonus accessories, including:

  • Official beholder dice with collector’s bag from FanRoll.
  • Bronze, silver and gold metal plates (which can also be used as device holders)
  • Collectible beholder cards (based on existing Wizards of the Coast art)
  • A large format Xanathar poster
  • A Xanathar cable guy miniature

Final Thoughts

Over the past few years we’ve seen the Dungeons & Dragons brand appearing in everything from Hawaiian shirts and running shoes to hand bags and mystery meat. This new collectible, however, is one collaboration that legitimately looks cool and works with the brand. Whether it takes off on Gamefound, however, remains to be seen.

We’ll be keeping a close eye (or three) on this new crowdfunding campaign and will update this page with new information as it’s made available. In the meantime, you can learn more and back it yourself on Gamefound.
