AMC Rolls Out New Ravenloft-Themed D&D Popcorn Bucket

Article Summary

  • AMC Theatres has just released an official D&D: Mists of Ravenloft 20-Sided Dice Popcorn Bucket.
  • It’s available only from their online store while supplies last and retails for $39.99 USD.
  • AMC also released an official D&D popcorn bucket in 2023 for Honor Among Thieves.

Movie night is about to get a buttery blend of saving throws and snacks, courtesy of AMC Theatres. The US movie theatre chain has just released the officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons: Mists of Ravenloft 20-Sided Dice Popcorn Bucket, which is available exclusively from its online shop.

The oversized plastic D20 is the latest in a long line of themed popcorn buckets that have exploded in popularity over the past few years and become highly sought-after collectibles. It’s also the second official D&D popcorn bucket from AMC, which also released one for the Honor Among Thieves movie back in 2023.

Below, we scoop up all the details.

What is the D&D Ravenloft Popcorn Bucket?

The new collectible bucket is shaped to look like an oversized D20 themed around the Ravenloft campaign setting, which recently appeared in the Ravenloft: The Horrors Within D&D supplement. The bucket has a 130 oz capacity, which is about the size of a large movie popcorn, but chances are most fans will add it to their shelves rather than using it for snacks.

How much does it cost?

The new Ravenloft Popcorn Bucket retails for $39.99 USD (not including shipping and handling) on the official AMC Theatres Shop. Because these types of collectibles often sell out quickly, AMC has listed the item as a limited-edition exclusive, enforcing a limit of three purchases per customer.

How do you get it?

The new bucket is available only on the AMC Theatres Shop website, while supplies last. That means unfortunately you won’t be able to pick it up at physical theatres.

What was the D&D Honor Among Thieves popcorn bucket?

If this giant D20 gives you a sense of déjà vu, you aren’t imagining things. When Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves hit the big screen in 2023, AMC released a similar promotional popcorn bucket and a plastic ale stein, both of which sold out quickly.

Today, on eBay, the Honor Among Thieves popcorn buckets are going for $60 to over $100 USD (with pristine, boxed versions occasionally commanding upwards of $200). Given how well those original movie buckets held their value, it’s safe to say this new Ravenloft variant will likely follow a similar trajectory once it sells out.

Final Thoughts

The new AMC Ravenloft popcorn bucket is further proof of the growing reach of Dungeons & Dragons into mainstream culture. And while it didn’t quite make the D&D Season of Horror, chances are it’s going to sell out quickly.

If you want to pick one up for yourself, you can grab one now while supplies last on the official AMC Shop.
