New DnD Hawaiian Shirts Released for 50th Anniversary

This year marks the 50th anniversary Dungeons & Dragons and to celebrate Wizards of the Coast has been partnering with a variety of different brands to roll out new tie-in merchandise. This includes some unusual collaborations with everything from Converse and Pop Tarts to the United States Postal Service.

Added to that list is a new collaborations with California-based apparel company Reyn Spooner, who has just released a series of limited-edition DnD Hawaiian shirts. The designs combine a retro style with a heaping dose of old school Dungeons & Dragons imagery.

So will these new shirts add any bonuses to your Charisma checks? Below we break out all the details.

What are the new Reyn Spooner DnD Hawaiian shirts?

The new Hawaiian shirts were released to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Dungeons & Dragon and features original artwork created by the Reyn Spooner design team. Each scene is focused on one of the six core DnD abilities: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. You can see all of the artwork below and there’s more information about their approach and the designs on the Reyn Spooner website.

Each shirt retails for $164 USD and can be purchased online from Reyn Spooner or through various brick and mortar retailers (although they are limited edition, so may sell out relatively quickly).

Are there other DnD Hawaiian shirts?

The new Reyn Spooner designs aren’t the only DnD Hawaiian shirts in existence. In fact, a number of different options have been released over the years. Below are a few places where you can snag other designs:

Final Thoughts

Wizards of the Coast’s collaboration with Reyn Spooner is a pretty unusual way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of D&D and probably not something fans have been actively clamoring for. That being said, the designs do look pretty stylish, offering an old school look that Gary Gygax – no stranger to Hawaiian shirts himself – would likely approve of.

Cameron Nichols is a Senior Editor who lives in Boston, Massachusetts, and has been playing D&D since the early 90s, when he was introduced by his older brother and cut his teeth on AD&D 2nd Edition. Since then he’s played virtually every RPG he could get his nerdy little mitts on (including a weird Goth phase in the early 2000s when he rocked Vampire: The Masquerade pretty hard). His favorite D&D campaign setting is the Forgotten Realms and his favorite character to play was a Half-Orc Barbarian named Grug (who was unfortunately devoured by a gelatinous cube).
