If you’re looking to explore the great beyond in your next Dungeons & Dragons campaign, WizKids has you covered with the Replicas of the Realms: Spirit Board. Based on the classic occult artifact (essentially the D&D equivalent of a ouija board), this real-world prop is designed to turn your gaming area into a full-blown séance parlor.
The board is slated to release in October 2026, but you can pre-order it now from your local game store, WizKids and Amazon. Below, we call upon the spirits to summon up all the details.
What is the new WizKids D&D Spirit Board?
The new WizKids Spirit Board is a life-sized replica of the iconic magic item which has appeared in a number of D&D supplements over the years. The board has the letters of the alphabet printed on one side, alongside the words “Yes” and “No” and symbols representing “Weal” and “Woe.”
It includes the standard board (which is painted and made out of polymer) and a planchette (the device you move around the board to spell out various words and answer specific questions). The idea is that it’s something that you’d use in a game of D&D, and it would work particularly well with the recently released Ravenloft: The Horrors Within.

How much is the new WizKids D&D Spirit Board?
The box set retails for $79.99 USD (not including shipping and handling). It’s comparable to other premium, life-sized props on the market which are designed to be both interactive props for D&D as well as collector’s items.
When is the WizKids D&D Spirit Board coming out?
The new Spirit Board is scheduled to hit retail shelves in October 2026 (we’ll update this page with an exact date once it’s been confirmed). Notably, this release window seems pretty deliberate given its close proximity to Halloween.

What is a Spirit Board in D&D lore?
A Spirit Board is essentially the D&D version of a ouija board and is categorized as a Wondrous, Very Rare magic item. In the lore of Ravenloft, they were often employed by spiritualists known as the Keepers of the Feather, serving as the focal points of séances and attempts to contact worlds beyond.
In the new D&D 5.5E rules, the board has 3 charges and regains 1 expended charge daily at dawn. While touching the planchette, you can take 1 minute to cast the Augury or Commune spells. As you cast the spell, you call on the spirits of the dead to guide the planchette across the board’s surface, answering your questions by pointing to the letters or words on the board.
Notably, the magic item first appeared in the appendix to Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft in 2021, with the idea that you could print out the image and attach it to a wooden board to create a real life version. It was later added as a treasure item to the 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Final Thoughts
It’s great to see WizKids continuing to expand their Replicas of the Realms line into functional props that Dungeon Masters can actually use to terrorize… err, immerse their players in the game. Between this and their recent influx of Ravenloft accessories, it looks like late 2026 is shaping up to be a spooky season for D&D fans.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this new replica in the days ahead and will do a review closer to launch in October 2026. In the meantime, you can pre-order it now from your local game store, WizKids and Amazon.
