D&D Beyond is officially journeying to one of Dungeons & Dragons’ oldest and most iconic cities, with the latest entry in the Legends of Greyhawk organized play program.
Entitled Secrets of the Free City, this digital collection consists of three adventures that take place in the iconic City of Greyhawk. All of the adventures were developed by publisher Baldman Games with support from Wizards of the Coast, and have been run at several conventions and organized play events over the past year. Now, however, you can run them for yourself online via D&D Beyond.
Below, we open the gates and take a closer look at what secrets await in the heart of the Free City.

What’s included in Legends of Greyhawk: Secrets of the Free City?
Secrets of the Free City is a digital bundle containing three interconnected adventures first developed by Baldman Games as the City of Greyhawk Trilogy, which debuted last summer at Gen Con 2025.
As the name suggests, all three take place in the legendary Free City of Greyhawk and each adventure is designed for Level 1 to 4 characters, taking roughly 3 to 4 hours to complete. The adventures (which can be run individually or as part of a mini-campaign) are as follows:
- Shadows Over the Free City: An attempted heist occurs at the Great Library connected to an ancient and forbidden magical tome. A local cleric hires the players to uncover the library’s secrets and untangle the mystery.
- Sword in the Shadows: Rumors spread in the city about a mysterious package originating from the Temple of Elemental Evil. Players must navigate back-alley deals and cryptic notes to secure the relic before the darker forces do.
- Murder Among Thieves: Turmoil grips the underworld after a high-ranking figure in the Thieves’ Guild is slain. Two young rogues offer the party a substantial payout to unmask the killer.

What is Legends of Greyhawk?
Legends of Greyhawk is an official Dungeons & Dragons organized play program run by third-party organizations including Baldman Games and GameConclave, with approval and support from Wizards of the Coast. The program officially launched in the summer of 2025 at Gen Con and uses the new D&D 5.5E rules. The adventures used in the program are primarily designed to be run at conventions, although materials are released to the general public several months afterwards.
Adventures are also designed to be interconnected, helping to shape a larger narrative that influences the whole of the modern Greyhawk setting. Any convention attendee can play in a Legends of Greyhawk adventure, so long as they have created a character in D&D Beyond (using the rules from the 2024 D&D 5.5E Player’s Handbook). Players can also earn physical rewards in the form of tradable magic item cards and other certificates at the end of each play session.

Wizards of the Coast has also released a Legends of Greyhawk Guide which provides more information on character creation, including guidelines on which region of Greyhawk your character can come from, how many magic items you can have based on your level, and how trading magic items with other players works. This document is also regularly updated as new official D&D supplements are released.
Wizards of the Coast has also begun to package and release Legends of Greyhawk adventures as digital “play bundles” on D&D Beyond. So far, there have been two such play packs: Elemental Evil Rising (which was also developed by Baldman Games and released on D&D Beyond in April 2026) and Tales from Turtleback Cove (which was developed by GameConclave and released on D&D Beyond in May 2026).

Who is Baldman Games?
Baldman Games is one of the largest official Dungeons & Dragons organized play providers in the world. Operating as an official Partner Organization for Wizards of the Coast, it runs numerous multi-table D&D events at major conventions like Gen Con, Origins and PAX.
Beyond the physical convention floor, Baldman Games also hosts monthly “Virtual D&D Weekends” via Discord and VTT platforms, which are designed for online play.
In addition to managing and organizing D&D convention events, Baldman also designs and publishes official D&D organized play storylines. While it has historically contributed content to the Adventurers League (including the Dreams of the Red Wizards and Moonshae Isles campaigns), they are now one of the primary partner publishers for the new Legends of Greyhawk program.
