WizKids Enters the Mists With New Ravenloft D&D Minis

WizKids is officially heading into the Domains of Dread, with the company recently unveiling a new line of Ravenloft miniatures that tie-in to the upcoming D&D supplement Ravenloft: The Horrors Within.

The figures are based on six monsters that will be appearing in the supplement, which themselves are based on creatures created by HP Lovecraft (notably both Cthulhu and a new Mythos-associated Domain of Dread will also be appearing in the book). The sets will be coming out in late 2026, but you can pre-order them now from your local game store, WizKids and Amazon. Below, we take a closer look at these new tiny terrors.

What are the new WizKids Ravenloft D&D Minis?

Two sets have been announced so far, which contain six pre-painted and table useable miniatures for D&D 5.5E. They are as follows:

  • Maddening Monsters of Ravenloft: This set includes the Gug (a huge, demonic entity that uses its claws and fangs to tear its victims apart) a Yithian (terrifying beings bent on universal domination and capable of absorbing the minds of other beings) and the Nightgaunt (gargoyle-like creatures that haunt the wilds and swoop down on their prey).
  • Eldritch Enemies of Ravenloft: This set includes an Elder Thing (tentacled, alien beings with colonies stretching across countless worlds), a Mi-Go (strange, mantis-like monstrosities that remove the brains from their victims) and a Shoggoth (originally created by the Elder Things for dangerous labor, they now haunt the dark places of the world).

How much are the Ravenloft D&D minis?

Each of the new sets retail for $49.99 USD (not including shipping and handling). That may seem a bit pricey, but it is worth noting that both the Gug and the Elder Thing are larger format minis that come on 50 mm bases (rather than the 25 mm standard size). It’s also not bad considering they’re pre-painted and the sets are comparable in price to other recently released D&D WizKids minis.

When are the Ravenloft D&D minis coming out?

The new Ravenloft minis are scheduled to hit store shelves late 2026 (we’ll update this page with an exact date once it’s been confirmed). Notably, Ravenloft: The Horrors Within is slated for release on June 16th, 2026, so you’ll have to wait a few months to use the figures at your table if you are planning on integrating them into your game.

Final Thoughts

It’s interesting to see that WizKids is focusing entirely on the Lovecraftian monsters featured in Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, so we’ll have to wait and see if other creatures from the supplement will also be coming out in the days ahead.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on the new series and providing a complete review closer to launch. In the meantime you can pre-order them now from local game stores, WizKids and Amazon.
