In early March 2026, longtime D&D miniature and accessory maker WizKids announced that their popular HeroClix skirmish game was launching a crossover featuring characters and creatures from the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse. D&D HeroClix: Series One is currently slated for release in October 2026 and will include over 60 full individual minis, with several new figures recently being unveiled.
The new figures include a band of adventurers, a mimic, the Red Wizards of Thay and even a giant space hamster. You can pre-order them now from local game stores, WizKids and Amazon. Below, we click into all the details.

What is HeroClix?
HeroClix is miniatures-based tabletop wargame where players build small teams of 3 to 5 figures. One key element that differentiates it from other mini-based skirmish games however is the use of a Combat Dial system located in the base of each figure (a concept first introduced in the Mage Knight miniatures game). This dial tracks all of a character’s vital statistics, such as Speed, Attack and Defense, essentially eliminating the need for any print materials. As a character takes damage from an opponent they “click” the dial clockwise. The rules are relatively simple, with all actions resolved on pre-made, gridded scenario maps that are 35 mm x 35 mm in size.
The game was first published in 2002 by WizKids and over the years has developed a solid fan base, with over 750 million figures sold worldwide. The game has also expanded to include a wide range of pop culture franchises, including expansions for video games like Halo, Street Fighter, and Gears of War as well as popular IPs like Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the WWE. Figures come in blind boxes which feature rarity types including: Secret Commons, Primes and extremely rare “Chase” variants.
Notably, Dungeons & Dragons did briefly collaborate with HeroClix for the Eye of the Bolder, Cave of the Owlbears and Den of the Displacer Beast sets, which were released in 2024 and 2025 as part of the HeroClix Iconix line. Each contained a few miniatures and a dice. These were, however, really meant more as collectibles rather than the full expansion for the game that’s now taking place in late 2026 with D&D HeroClix: Series One.

What’s included in the new D&D HeroClix sets?
D&D HeroClix: Series One set will contain 60 different pre-painted miniatures that are designed to be fully compatible with existing HeroClix lines. In terms of rarities, the set includes Secret Commons, Primes and Chase miniatures, the latter of which features new Chromatic Dragon Wyrmlings. Each booster pack contains three regular miniatures, one oversized miniature on a larger combat dial, an object token with its corresponding card and a One-Shot card featuring well-known D&D spells such as Fireball and Magic Missile.
Recently revealed sets include:
- Adventuring Party 1: This includes a Dwarf Monk, Elf Ranger, Halfling Warlock and Gnome Cleric
- Red Wizards of Thay: Inspired by the infamous villains from the Forgotten Realms, this set includes a Zombie, Cultist, Red Wizard and Human Sorceror
- Giant Space Hamster: This oversized mini is based on the bizarre creatures found in the Spelljammer setting (and popularized by the characters Minsc & Boo).
- Tavern Trouble Scenario Pack: This set includes an Elf Wizard, Dwarf Fighter, Gnome Bard and Cask Mimic. It also includes two Scenario cards, terrain marker and a full-color, double-sided map.

How much are the D&D HeroClix sets?
WizKids is releasing the new figures in a standard Booster Brick format, which contains 8 individual boosters and has a suggested retail price $223.92 USD. Individual standard boosters will be going for $34.99 USD, while the larger format figures will retail for $39.99 USD and the Scenario packs will retail for $44.99 USD (with the added price due to the maps, terrain pieces and scenario cards).
When is D&D HeroClix: Series One coming out?
D&D Dragons HeroClix: Series One is scheduled to hit store shelves in October 2026 at which point all 60 figures and associated scenario packs will be available. We’ll update this page with an exact date once it’s been confirmed.

Final Thoughts
WizKids is pretty much synonymous with D&D miniatures, thanks to both their pre-painted figures and unpainted variants (such as the recent Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures). Bringing D&D into their HeroClix system, seems like a no brainer.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on the new series in the weeks ahead and will share some of the upcoming figures as they’re announced. In the meantime you can pre-order these early sets now from your now from local game stores, WizKids and Amazon.
