WizKids Unleashes New Monster Menagerie D&D Minis

WizKids is re-releasing some of its most popular Dungeons & Dragons miniatures, while also serving up a few new creatures, courtesy of the upcoming D&D Icons of the Realms: Monster Menagerie Revisited. The set includes almost 50 figures, with classics such as Bullywugs and Griffons, as well as brand new monsters like the Yeth Hound and Gorgon. You can order them now from your local game store, Amazon and WizKids.

Notably, the original D&D Monster Menagerie released back in 2016 and was one of WizKids best-selling sets, with many of the mini since being sold out. As a result, this re-release marks both a return for the series as well as a major next step. Below, we open the cage door and take a closer look at this latest beastly batch.

What’s included in WizKids Monster Menagerie Revisited?

The new set is part of WizKids’ long running Dungeons & Dragons: Icons of the Realms series and will include 48 pre-painted miniatures taken from D&D lore. As with previous sets, these come in a variety of sizes and creature types, including some lesser known monsters like the Bulezaus and their Rutterkin.

Several figures which appeared in the original 2016 Monster Menagerie also have new alternate paint treatments and WizKids’ model creation and painting process has improved over the past 10 years, so in a way we’re really looking at entirely new lineup.

How much are the new Monster Menagerie Revisited Mins?

A set of 10 booster boxes (each containing four miniatures) retails for $199.90 USD (not including shipping and handling). This is more or less comparable to other recent WizKids sets (such as the Monster Manual II collection) and works out to roughly $20 a box or $5 per miniature.

Notably, some retailers may also sell individual booster boxes for a separate price, so you have a bit of flexibility in terms of price. It’s also worth noting that the boosters are blind boxes, so you really don’t know what you’ll get with each one (which for some WizKids collectors is part of the fun).

When were the Monster Menagerie Revisited minis released?

The new D&D minis had an official street date of February 18th, 2026, but if you are ordering it online you should expect a few weeks for shipping and handling. They should also start showing up in friendly local game stores in the next week or two, but as with past releases, you might want to check with your FLGS if you’re thinking of snagging any of them.

Final Thoughts

WizKids’ original Monster Menagerie was a major release for the company when it first launched over a decade ago, helping to usher in the modern era of pre-painted minis. With this re-release many of these original creatures will now get a second chance to tear D&D adventurers apart.

You can pick up the new Monster Menagerie Revisited collection now from your local game store, Amazon and WizKids.
