Target Unveils New Exclusive Stranger Things D&D Tie-in Book

US retailer Target has just announced a new exclusive book entitled Stranger Things: Dungeons & Dragons: Tales from the Table which ties in to the latest season of the popular Netflix series and was created in conjunction with Wizards of the Coast using the official D&D brand.

The book is meant to be a piece of in-world fiction that features notes, maps and sketches created by the characters of Stranger Things as part of their ongoing D&D campaign. It also includes bonus stickers and even a set of temporary tattoos. The hardcover will be coming out later this fall, but you can pre-order your copy now from Target.

So what can fans expect in this latest piece of D&D and Stranger Things lore? Below, we call on the hard rocking spirit of Eddie Munson to find out.

What is “Stranger Things: D&D Tales from the Table” about?

Stranger Things: Dungeons & Dragons: Tales from the Table is a 144 page hardcover book published by Del Rey and available exclusively at Target. It is written by long time D&D contributors and husband and wife team Jim Zub and Stacy King, and also features original illustrations by Donato Arts. It’s official product description on the Target website reads as follows:

Join the kids of Stranger Things on a rollicking illustrated journey through their years-long Dungeons & Dragons campaign in this official scrapbook, featuring original illustrations, stickers, and more!

Stranger Things: Dungeons & Dragons: Tales from the Table follows the kids’ experience throughout Stranger Things by collecting fragments of their shared Dungeons & Dragons game. It interweaves real D&D maps and assets from the 80s, with the Dungeon Master notes of Mike, Will, and Eddie Munson, the player notes of the rest of the crew, and the various notes and scraps the kids leave behind as they deal with their ongoing adventures in Hawkins and beyond.”

When is “Stranger Things D&D: Tales from the Table” coming out?

The book will be released on November 4th, 2025. This is shortly before the release of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things on Netflix, with Episodes 1-4 premiering on November 26th, Episodes 5-7 premiering on December 25th and the series finale premiering on December 31st.

How much is “”Stranger Things D&D: Tales from the Table”?

The book will retail for $24.50 USD (not including shipping and handling if ordering online) and may also be available at this same price point at physical Target locations. Notably it won’t be available at any other online retailers and there likely won’t be any reprints, so it’s possible the book could see an increase in value on eBay and the secondary market.

Final Thoughts

This new Target exclusive isn’t the only collaboration between the two pop culture franchises, with Wizards of the Coast and Netflix recently unveiling a new D&D box set entitled Welcome to the Hellfire Club, which will coming out in October of 2025. We’ll be keeping a close eye on both products in the days ahead and will be sure to update both pages with more information as its made available.

In the meantime, you can pre-order your copy of Stranger Things D&D: Tales from the Table now from Target.
