Everyone knows you can’t have any dungeons without a few dragons, and there are few of these scaly monsters more recognizable than the red dragon, which has appeared in countless D&D products over the years. As a further celebration of these iconic creatures, WizKids has just unveiled a new Red Dragon Tyrant Figure, which is based on a recent redesign from the Wizards of the Coast art team.
The new figure – which you can use as a mini during gameplay or display as a collectible – will be coming out in the summer of 2025 and is available for pre-order now on the WizKids website. What is the new WizKids Red Dragon Tyrant Figure?
The new WiKids red dragon figure is part of their ongoing Dungeons & Dragons: Icons of the Realms series, which has released several other chromatic dragon figs in recent months. Notably, this new Red Dragon Tyrant model is using the updated design which the Wizards of the Coast team created as part of the launch of the 2025 Monster Manual. The redesigns include the red dragon as well as other familiar chromatic species like the green dragon and black dragon, with the overhaul driven in large part by noted fantasy illustrator Todd Lockwood.
The upcoming WizKids red dragon figure sits on a 75 mm base and has an impressive 8-inch wingspan, with both a painted and unpainted version available for purchase. The size makes it ideal if you are planning on using it during an actual in-person D&D game, although these larger models are also a solid option for collectors and usually look great on a book shelf or in a display case.
