Beadle & Grimm’s Gold Anniversary Edition of Quests from the Infinite Staircase (Deep Dive)

2024 has been a big year for Dungeons & Dragons, with the game celebrating its 50th anniversary. As part of the ongoing festivities, Wizards of the Coast also released Quests from the Infinite Staircase, a modern update of some of the most popular adventures from DnD history.

At the same time, popular third-party RPG publisher Beadle & Grimm’s also announced the publication of the Gold Anniversary Edition for Quests from the Infinite Staircase, a high-end box set that contains maps, player hands outs, temporary tattoos, tokens and other golden goodies. After initially only being available for pre-order, this limited edition box set is now available to ship via the B&G website.

So what new destinations does this deluxe box set lead to? Below, we run down all the details.

What’s included in the Gold Anniversary Edition of Quests from the Infinite Staircase?

To start with, the new B&G campaign set comes in one of three different cover options, each of which is associated with one of the adventures and has different front and back art. You can choose between art inspired by the The Lost City, Expedition to the Barrier Peaks or The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth.

Whatever box art you choose, inside the set contains six adventures, the Appendices, and the Infinite Staircase chapter, all of which is content featured in the standard version of Quests from the Infinite Staircase. In the case of the Beadle & Grimm’s Golden Anniversary Edition, however, the materials are separated into five booklets. Notably, the adventures are designed for Levels 1-13 characters and based on classic modules that have been upgraded to the DnD 5e rules.

In addition to the adventures, that box set also includes a bonus encounter book that’s exclusive to the Beadle & Grimm’s Gold Anniversary Edition. These are short adventures that expand on the materials presented in the book and include:

  • The Island of Death (4th level): A follow up to The Lost City, this encounter is set in the Underground City described at the end of the module and features a prophecy that sees the characters heading back to the ziggurat at a much higher level to defeat Zargon the Returner.
  • Betrayal in the Desert (7th level): A companion to the Pharaoh adventure, this encounter finds the players dealing with a scheming yuan-ti abomination and a deadly shrine to the serpent god.
  • Trouble With Giants (9th level): Supporting The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, this encounter includes an expanded area of the Yatil Mountains filled with gnomes, trolls and an enraged fire giant.

Like other Beadle & Grimm’s products (including their new 2024 DMG Premium Map Collection and the recent Platinum Edition for Vecna Eve of Ruin), the Quests for the Infinite Staircase Gold Anniversary Edition also contains dozens of maps designed specifically for B&G. All of them come in a designer map case and the full list of maps includes:

  • 27 Battle Maps: These feature major encounters and boss battles from the six adventures.
  • 17 DM maps: These are also taken from the adventures and specifically appended for Dungeon Masters.
