Recently, White Wolf and Wizards of the Coast announced they were collaborating on a new D&D 5.5E compatible supplement entitled Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood, with design work being contracted out to third-party publisher Ghostfire Gaming.
And while the digital-only product will be coming out later in July, you can pre-order it now on D&D Beyond. Below, we sink our teeth into all the details of this new blood-soaked blending of brands.

What’s included in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood on D&D Beyond?
This D&D Beyond exclusive product includes:
- The Kindred Class: A full Leve 1 to 20 vampire class with D&D 5.5E rules adapted from Vampire: The Masquerade mechanics including Blood Points, Disciplines and the Beast.
- Six Clan subclasses: The Clans of Vampire: The Masquerade are transformed into subclasses, with players able to choose from the Brujah, Gangrel, Lasombra, Nosferatu, Toreador or Ventrue.
- An adventure: Based on the Vampire: The Dark Ages setting, this adventure takes place in Northern Britain in 700 CE and is designed for Level 4 characters. It’s entitled “One Last Goodbye” and is described as “a four-night adventure of grief, suspicion, and a climactic clash of blood and fury.”
- New Backgrounds & Feats: Five Kindred-adjacent Backgrounds along with 25 Origin and Kindred Feats.
- Six new monster statblocks: These are all horror-themed and taken from the World of Darkness
- Three Maps: Which can be used with the D&D Beyond Maps VTT.
- New equipment and items: This includes 49 mundane items/weapons, pus 1 magic item (including drinkable vampire blood known as Kindred Vitae).
- Two new mechanics: This includes D&D 5.5E rules for Masquerade Level and Narrated Feeding (both of which are taken from the current edition of Vampire: the Masquerade).

The D&D Beyond digital only product will also include new illustrations by artist Micah Ulrich (several of which have been previewed already).
In a blog post, White Wolf Creative Director Jess Lanzillo notes that the supplement is designed to “bring a piece of the World of Darkness to a table that already lives in 5E D&D.”
Notably, Lanzillo is the former VP of Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast before leaving the company in June of 2025 to take the position at White Wolf, but it appears there isn’t any bad blood between her and her former employer.

When will Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood be released?
Bound by Blood will be available on D&D Beyond on July 28th, 2026. You can, however, pre-order it now. Unfortunately, you won’t receive the product any earlier, but you will get two free D&D Beyond Character Sheet Backdrops inspired by the World of Darkess and Vampire: The Masquerade.
Notably this is one of the few times that Wizards of the Coast has offered pre-orders for a product that was exclusively available on D&D Beyond, and it’s not clear if either WotC, White Wolf or Ghostfire Gaming will ever produce a PDF or print version.

How much is Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood?
On D&D Beyond the book will retail for $29.99 USD. This may seem a little expensive for a digital only title, but is fairly comparable to what we’ve seen from other major third-party books.
For example, the recent Griffon’s Saddlebag expansion also retails for $29.99 USD.

Have White Wolf and Wizards of the Coast worked together before?
While there has never been a Vampire: The Masquerade D&D crossover until now, Wizards of the Coast and White Wolf actually share a surprisingly deep history dating back several decades, when Wizards of the Coast officially licensed the entire D&D Ravenloft campaign setting to White Wolf.
In fact, from 2001 to 2005, White Wolf acted as the sole steward of the Demiplane of Dread, publishing dozens of popular D&D 3E sourcebooks before the rights eventually reverted back to Wizards of the Coast.

This latest D&D crossover, however, represents a significant return to form for White Wolf, which had been retired as a publisher in 2018 following the controversial launch of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition. At that time, White Wolf faced significant fan backlash and media scrutiny for publishing content that was considered racist and homophobic. Parent company Paradox Interactive later dissolved White Wolf as a standalone publishing entity, stripping its ability to develop tabletop material in-house. Since then, new World of Darkness TTRPG products (including Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse) have been developed by third-party publishers such as Renegade Game Studios.
It wasn’t until May 2025 that Paradox decided to relaunch White Wolf as a publishing imprint, with former Wizards of the Coast D&D Vice President Jess Lanzillo stepping in to shepherd the new studio, which is currently based in Sweden, where their parent company Paradox is also located. This means that despite being produced by Ghostfire Gaming, Bound by Blood is actually the first product to come out of White Wolf publishing in almost a decade.

Final Thoughts
Vampires are of course nothing new to Dungeons & Dragons, having appeared in some of the earliest versions of the game. In fact, they’re front and center in recent supplements like Ravenloft: The Horrors Within and Astarion’s Book of Hungers, both of which feature the playable species known as the Dhampir.
That being said, we haven’t seen anything like this new D&D crossover with Vampire: The Masquerade and there’s likely a lot riding on this new product for both companies. For Wizards of the Coast, it’s a way to test new partnerships and connect with a wider audience. For White Wolf, it’s a chance to rebuild its brand, with rumors also suggesting we may soon see Vampire: The Masquerade 6th edition unveiled at this year’s Gen Con.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on Bound by Blood in the days ahead and will update this page with new information (and a complete review) closer to launch on July 28th. In the meantime, you can pre-order it now on D&D Beyond.
