Vampire: The Masquerade Gets Bloody New D&D Beyond Crossover

Two of the most iconic tabletop RPGs of all time are about to collide, with the World of Darkness officially crossing over into the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse for the first time. Publishers White Wolf and Wizards of the Coast have both recently announced that a brand-new supplement entitled Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood is heading to D&D Beyond.

The upcoming crossover will include a new vampire class and an original adventure, while also converting a number of World of Darkness mechanics into the D&D 5.5E ruleset. The digital-only supplement will be coming out later in July 2026, but you’ll be able to pre-order it soon. Below, we sink our teeth into all the details of this new blood-soaked blending of brands.

What is “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood” about?

In a blog post on the official White Wolf website, current World of Darkness Creative Director Jess Lanzillo notes that the new supplement was actually outsourced to Ghostfire Gaming, the third-party D&D 5E publisher best known for their Grim Hollow dark fantasy setting, with several products featured on D&D Beyond.

According to Lanzillo, the supplement is designed to “bring a piece of the World of Darkness to a table that already lives in 5E D&D.” It will include:

  • A complete Vampire “Kindred” class built specifically for the D&D 5.5e rules.
  • Vampire: The Masquerade mechanics adapted for 5E, including Blood Points, Disciplines and the Beast.
  • A new D&D 5.5E adventure based on the Vampire: The Dark Ages setting (which takes place in the Middle Ages).
  • Original illustrations by artist Micah Ulrich (several of which have been previewed already).

Notably, Lanzillo is the former VP of Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast before leaving the company in June of 2025 to take the position at White Wolf, but it appears there isn’t any bad blood between her and her former employer.

When will Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood be released?

According to a blog post on D&D Beyond, Bound by Blood will be available for pre-order on D&D Beyond in late June, with a full digital release slated for July 2026 (we’ll update this page with an exact date once it’s been confirmed).

How much is Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood?

Neither White Wolf nor Wizards of the Coast has confirmed the price point, but it will likely run in the $20 to $30 USD price range (which is what we have seen from recent third-party books). Again, we’ll update this page once we know more.

Have White Wolf and Wizards of the Coast worked together before?

While there has never been a Vampire: The Masquerade D&D crossover until now, Wizards of the Coast and White Wolf actually share a surprisingly deep history dating back several decades, when Wizards of the Coast officially licensed the entire D&D Ravenloft campaign setting to White Wolf. From 2001 to 2005, White Wolf acted as the sole steward of the Demiplane of Dread, publishing dozens of popular D&D 3E sourcebooks before the rights eventually reverted back to Wizards of the Coast.

This latest D&D crossover, however, represents a significant return to form for White Wolf, which had been retired as a publisher in 2018 following the controversial launch of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition. At that time, White Wolf faced significant fan backlash and media scrutiny for publishing content that was considered racist and homophobic. Parent company Paradox Interactive later dissolved White Wolf as a standalone publishing entity, stripping its ability to develop tabletop material in-house. Since then, new World of Darkness TTRPG products (including Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse) have been developed by third-party publishers such as Renegade Game Studios.

It wasn’t until May 2025 that Paradox decided to relaunch White Wolf as a publishing imprint, with former Wizards of the Coast D&D Vice President Jess Lanzillo stepping in to shepherd the new studio, which is currently based in Sweden, where their parent company Paradox is also located. Despite being produced by Ghostfire Gaming, Bound by Blood is actually the first product to come out of White Wolf publishing in almost a decade.

Final Thoughts

Vampires are of course nothing new to Dungeons & Dragons, having appeared in some of the earliest versions of the game. In fact, they’re front and center in recent supplements like Ravenloft: The Horrors Within and Astarion’s Book of Hungers, both of which feature the playable species known as the Dhampir.

That being said, we haven’t seen anything like this new D&D crossover with Vampire: The Masquerade and there’s likely a lot riding on this new product for both companies. For Wizards of the Coast, it’s a way to test new partnerships and connect with a wider audience. For White Wolf, it’s a chance to rebuild its brand, with rumors also suggesting we may soon see Vampire: The Masquerade 6th edition unveiled at this year’s Gen Con.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on Bound by Blood in the days ahead and will update this page with new information as it’s made available.
