New Drizzt Statue Celebrates Character’s 35th Anniversary

New 1:4 scale statue from Gatherers’ Tavern pays homage to the legendary dark elf ranger.

When it comes to the literary world of D&D, Drizzt Do’Urden remains the most popular of all characters. Created by fantasy author R.A Salvatore in 1988 as part of the Forgotten Realms setting, Drizzt has since spawned dozens of novels, not to mention appearing in numerous video games, comic books, action figures and other collectibles. Now, the scimitar-wielding drow is getting the deluxe treatment in the form of a new collector’s statue.

Designed to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the character’s creation, the new Drizzt statue is created by Gatherers’ Tavern, a Singapore-based collectibles and tabletop games company, which currently maintains licenses with Habsro for both Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering.

So just what can you expect from this new design? Below we break out all the details.

New Drizzt Statue Specs

The statue itself is designed by French concept artist Magali Villeneuve, and is 1:4 scale (meaning it’s one quarter of the size of what Drizzt would be in real life). It’s also constructed out of cold cast porcelain (a material used in high-end collectible statues) and as a result stands 19 inches tall and weighs a whopping 40 lbs. Each statute is also individually hand painted and features a variety of options for display, including:

  • Two interchangeable heads (with and without hood)
  • Two pairs of arm switch-outs
  • LED-light features on Guenhwyvar (Drizzt’s trusty magical panther)
  • Snow mountain themed base

Each purchase also comes with a sterling silver necklace of Mielikki (the goddess Drizzt serves) and 3-inch Figurine of Wondrous Power (the statue Drizzt uses to summon Guenhwyvar from the Astral Plane).

How Much is the New Drizzt Statue Retailing For?

Retailing for a wallet gouging $1,328 USD (plus shipping), this definitely isn’t a cheap collectible (although Gatherers Tavern does offer a payment plan option). What’s more, the new 1:4 scale figure has been limited to only 399 copies, which means it’s likely to sell out fast and potentially command some serious value on the secondary market (if you’re a Drizzt fan and looking for something a little more affordable you might want to check out the Modern Icons Drizzt Statue).

That being said, there’s no doubt that this new statue is absolutely gorgeous. If you’ve got enough gold pieces, you can order yours now directly from Gatherers Tavern.
