If you’re a fan of Dungeons & Dragons actual play series, chances are you’ve heard of Anjali Bhimani. The award-winning actress has made a name for herself as a performer on several episodes of Critical Role and Dimension 20, and more recently has appeared in several Wizards of the Coast live streams.
Now, Bhimani is taking on a different role, having written a brand new adventure entitled The Malady of Minarrh, which is available now exclusively on D&D Beyond. The adventure is co-published by Road to Ithaka Press, an independent label for fantasy and sci-fi books which Bhimani launched in 2023.
So just what’s included in this new D&D Beyond celebrity release? Below, we take a closer look at all the details.

What is the “The Malady of Minarrh” about?
The Malady of Minarrah is an adventure for three to four Level 5 characters that can be completed in two to three sessions. The story takes place in the titular Minarrh, a remote town which has recently come under the influence of a mysterious plague that is quickly spreading. The only person who can cure the sickness is the daughter of a local temple leader. Unfortunately, she’s been kidnapped by an unknown group and it’s up to the players to return her to safety and uncover the source of the deadly scourge
Most of the action takes place in and around the town of Minarrh, with players interacting with the townsfolk, exploring hidden crypts and an underground thieves den, and battling an ancient evil. The adventure is also designed to be highly flexible, and something both new and experienced Dungeon Masters can easily run. It also includes new original artwork from noted illustrator Julia Maddalina.

The adventure also includes:
- 4 Maps (which integrate with the Maps VTT).
- 3 new Monsters (for use with D&D Beyond Encounters)
- Dozens of New NPCs
- New custom-built traps
Notably, the adventure uses the new DnD 2024 rules, which were first introduced in the new Player’s Handbook.

Who is Anjali Bhimani?
Anjali Bhimani is an American actress who has appeared in a variety of TV shows, including The Sopranos, Law & Order and Miss Marvel. She’s also done extensive work in video games, including voicing the character Symmetra in Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch and the character of Rampart in Apex Legends.
Bhimani is also a well-known tabletop RPG fan and has appeared in multiple episodes of Critical Role, Dimension 20 and Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill! More recently, in 2024 she served as the Dungeon Master for the actual play one shot of Red Dragon’s Tale, which was produced by Wizards of the Coast to celebrate the new D&D LEGO set.

How Much is “The Malady of Minarrh” on D&D Beyond?
Currently, The Malady of Minarrh retails on D&D Beyond for $14.99, which isn’t a bad deal considering the amount of content you get is enough to last at least 2 to 3 sessions. It’s possible the adventure may be discounted somewhere down the line (which is often the case with adventures), so you can always hold off.
It’s also not yet clear if the adventure will ever be available outside of D&D Beyond, so if you are interested in picking it up, D&D Beyond is really the only place you can get it (at least for now).

Final Thoughts
Anjali Bhimani has definitely made a name for herself in the D&D actual play community, and it’s great to see her stretching her creative muscles. Notably, she’s not the first actress and TTRPG fan to have her own adventure on D&D Beyond. In fact, in 2023 popular actress and actual play star Deborah Ann Woll also published her own adventure on the platform entitled Saving the Children’s Menu. So Bhimani is clearly in good company.
