Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting is heading back to D&D Beyond with the second instalment of the popular third-party sourcebook now available on D&D Beyond. First created in 2022 by Loot Tavern and later published by Hit Point Press after a hugely successful Kickstarter, the original book featured a ton of new player character options, including new subclasses, species and backgrounds.
Notably, part one was released on D&D Beyond back in March of 2025, so this final instalments round out the material with even more DM and player-facing content. Below, we take a closer look at what’s included.

What’s in the original “Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting” book?
The original version of Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting is a sourcebook for D&D 5e that was created by publisher Loot Tavern and later distributed by Hit Point Press after earning a record $1.8 million in funding via Kickstarter. The book is 600 pages in length and includes
- 75 new monster stat blocks
- 69 new spells
- 14 maps
- 11 monster hunt adventures (for multiple levels)
- 10 new species
- 9 new subclasses
- A new “Monster Tamer” class (with 4 associated subclasses)
- New rules for Harvesting, Crafting and Cooking with monster parts

If you purchased the physical copy from Loot Tavern and Hit Point Press you also get the following digital elements:
- PDF version of the book
- 44 additional monster encounters
- 10 “Bard Recording” music tracks
- 25+ monster sound effect audio files
- 10 ambient soundscapes audio files

What’s included in “Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting: Part Two” on D&D Beyond?
As noted previously, the original Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting book has been split into two parts on D&D Beyond. Part Two contains the following:
- 5 Subclasses (College of Cuisine Bard, Hunt Domain Cleric, Trapper Ranger, Skinshifter Sorcerer and Parasite Patron Warlock.)
- 5 playable Species (the salamander-like Lotol, the corpse-reanimating Mycelian, the shadowy Ombrask, the gelatinous Oozekin, and the moth-like Opteran).
- 53 Monsters for use with D&D Beyond Encounters
- 84 Magic Items
- 63 spells
- 5 adventures
It’s important to note the book does NOT use the new D&D 2024 rules (which were recently reclassified as D&D 5.5e by Wizards of the Coast). That being said, it is completely compatible.

How Much is “Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting: Part Two” on D&D Beyond?
Part Two retails for $29.99 USD on D&D Beyond. You can also pick up a bundle containing both Part One and Part Two for $64.99 USD. If you already purchased Part One, you’ll also get a $4.99 USD discount on Part Two at checkout.

Final Thoughts
Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting is an absolutely stellar third-party D&D 5E product. In fact, it’s spawned a series of other books featuring Heliana, including most recently a new Kickstarter collaboration with DnD shorts. This final instalment on D&D Beyond, however, is likely going to introduce Heliana to an even wider audience.
You can pick up Part Two now on D&D Beyond or grab the bundle which contains both parts at a discounted rate.
