D&D Beyond’s November Drop Charges Into Ysgard

Article Summary

  • The November 2026 D&D Beyond Drop has arrived with a focus on the Upper Plane of existence known as Ysgard.
  • Players get the Bariaur species, which hasn’t been around since D&D 3.5E, plus three new Planar Pact Feats.
  • November also marks the first new weapons in a Drop: the Bola, Pitchfork and Weighted Chain.
  • DMs get three new monster stat blocks, three new battle maps from Mike Schley and a 12-sticker Ysgard pack.

D&D Beyond has officially released the November 2026 Drop. This latest batch of content moves from the gloomy depths of the Shadowfell from last month’s Drop to the eternal battlefields of Ysgard. The latter is an Upper Plane of existence heavily influenced by real world Norse culture and home to a large part of the multiverse-spanning World Tree. It’s a realm where Viking-like celestial beings clash in endless battles and warrior-poets ply their craft to the gods of giantkind.

The Drop also includes a returning species from the glory days of D&D 3.5, plus new Feats, monster stat blocks, maps, and for the first time in a Drop, brand-new weapons. It’s available now to paid subscribers on D&D Beyond.

Below, we sharpen our battle axes and hack into all the details.

What are D&D Beyond Drops?

D&D Beyond Drops is a subscription perk program first introduced in May 2026, giving Hero and Master tier subscribers free evergreen content. Drops land on the first Thursday of each month with new content like spells, feats, and backgrounds for players, plus maps, monsters, magic items and adventures for DMs.

Unlike D&D Beyond’s typical limited-time bonus content, Drops are meant to be permanent: you keep everything released to date and everything that comes after, for as long as you remain subscribed. Wizards of the Coast has said the format was a direct response to subscriber requests and is meant to be community-driven, with regular surveys shaping future content. Drops can also be shared among D&D Beyond users in the same way that digital books can.

What’s New for Players in the November 2026 Drop?

For players, the biggest draw is likely going to be the Bariaur, the centaur-like species native to Ysgard who are known for their ram-like horns and love of battle. The species hasn’t been a playable option since the D&D 3.5e Planar Handbook, which was released back in 2004. The new D&D 5.5E version is a Celestial creature type, with Darkvision, advantage of saving throws to avoid the Prone condition and the ability to head butt opponents with a powerful Unarmed strike that both damages and shoves enemies at the same time.

The Drop also includes three new Feats which are tied to Ysgard and the Upper Planes:

  • Upper Planes Pact: Form a pact with an entity of the Upper Planes and draw on its powers.
  • Elysium Diplomat: Use the tranquility of Elysium to calm hostile foes and slip away if negotiations fail.
  • Ysgardian Warrior: Builds on your Upper Planes pact with Ysgard’s fighting spirit.

November also brings the first new weapons to appear in a D&D Beyond Drop:

  • Bola (Martial, Ranged): Two weights on a short leather or rope cord, traditionally used for hunting.
  • Pitchfork (Simple, Melee): A farming tool with two or three tines on a long handle (every angry mob just got an upgrade).
  • Weighted Chain (Martial, Melee): A long chain that loops behind the wielder’s back and extends past each hand.

Subscribers also get new Ysgard-themed character sheet backdrops.

What’s New for DMs in the November 2026 Drop?

DMs get three new monster stat blocks from Ysgard, all of which include original art:

  • Dread Linnorm (CR 17): Twin-headed dragons that fight with both ice and fire.
  • Firre (CR 4): Celestial beings who champion art and protect innocents.
  • Valkyrie (CR 9): Warriors born from the blood gods spill in battle.

Cartographer Mike Schley has also contributed three new battle maps for use with the D&D Beyond Maps VTT:

  • Celestial Mountain Slope: Which the designers suggest as a backdrop for a Ysgardian battle.
  • Musicians’ Amphitheater: An ethereal locale where bards and artists can gather.
  • Yggdrasil’s Roots: Features some of the roots of the World Tree, with paths leading to every plane in the multiverse.

Schley also illustrated the Ysgard Sticker Pack, which features six battle-inspired stickers, each of which has a variant for 12 stickers in total.

Final Thoughts

Six months in, D&D Beyond Drops continue to offer a surprising amount of content for both players and DMs. Champions of Ysgard feels like another solid entry, introducing weapons for the first, delving into a rarely explored plane of existence and resurrecting a long forgotten D&D 3.5e species. As part of the release, the D&D Beyond team has released a new survey to collect fan feedback now that the program has hit its stride.

Hero and Master Tier subscribers can claim the November Drop now on D&D Beyond.
