Beadle & Grimm’s Curse of Strahd Box Set is Back from the Dead

Third-party D&D publisher Beadle & Grimm’s is heading back into the Domains of Dread and resurrecting one of their most popular products, with a complete reprint of the Legendary Edition Curse of Strahd box set.

First released in late 2020, the original set was a tie-in to the popular D&D 5E Curse of Strahd campaign published in 2016 and quickly sold out online. The new reprint will be available this coming Halloween, but you can pre-order your copy now via the B&G website.

So just what can B&G and D&D fans expect from this returning set of high-end horror? Below, we dig up all the details.

What’s included in the Legendary Edition Curse of Strahd box set?

The reprint box set is identical to the 2020 version and is meant to support the original 2016 Curse of Strahd campaign. It’s important to note that all materials still use the base D&D 5E rules from 2014.

The box set includes the following:

The Complete Module, Broken Out

The entire Curse of Strahd adventure is broken out into four booklets, making it easier for DMs to flip to the right section on the fly instead of wrestling with one giant tome at the table.

Battle Maps of Castle Ravenloft

This is the marquee feature of the set, with 33 battle maps covering the entirety of Castle Ravenloft, gridded and scaled for use with miniatures. Every hallway, tower and dungeon level of Strahd’s home is represented, and the whole collection comes rolled up together in a protective map tube.

Additional Battle Maps

Beyond the castle itself, the set also includes dedicated battle maps for several other key locations from the campaign, including:

• The dungeon level of Death House
• The Coffin Maker’s Shop
• The Village of Barovia Church
• Old Bonegrinder
• The Wizard of the Wines Winery

The set also features a textured, in-world map of Barovia, illustrated by cartographer Deven Rue, giving players an opportunity to plot their route through Strahd’s domain.

Jewelry & Artifacts

The set comes with a pair of physical artifacts pulled straight from the pages of the campaign, including a metal replica of the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind (one of the most iconic magic items to be found in Barovia) along with a set of three replica Barovian Coins.

In-World Handouts

The box also features a collection of in-world handouts, covering everything from letters and notes to other pieces of in-game ephemera.

Bonus Encounters

DMs also get 4 bonus encounters exclusive to the B&G set, giving you extra material to weave into the campaign beyond what’s found in the core module.

Pre-Built PCs

For tables that want to jump straight into Barovia without the prep work, the set includes a selection of pre-built player characters, ready to go right out of the box.

Encounter Cards

The set features 60 encounter cards, each with player-facing art on the front and DM-facing stat blocks on the back (the idea being that you hang them on top of your DM screen). The cards cover a range of monsters across multiple Challenge Ratings and creature types, all taken from the campaign.

Custom DM Screen

The box also includes an exclusive DM screen, built specifically for the B&G set and filled with quick-reference tables specific to Ravenloft and the campaign.

Finger Puppets

The box also features a set of hilariously creepy finger puppets based on key creatures and NPCs. This includes a jester, a werewolf, a faceless bride, an undead priest and a vampire.

Tarokka Deck

Rounding out the set is a complete physical Tarokka deck, which is used throughout Curse of Strahd to determine the location of the Tome of Strahd, the Symbol of Ravenkind and the Sunsword, and to shape the fate of the campaign’s final showdown. Notably this is the older version and not the new Tarokka deck released by Wizards of the Coast in 2026.

How much is the Legendary Edition Curse of Strahd box set?

The Legendary Edition Curse of Strahd box set normally retails for $425 USD (not including shipping and handling). Beadle & Grimm’s, however, is currently offering 10% off, bringing the price down to $382.50 USD, if you pre-order ahead of the set’s return. As with their other premium releases, the B&G website also offers interest-free installments via their ShopPay program if you’d rather spread the cost out over time.

When is the new Beadle & Grimm’s Legendary Edition coming out?

The reprinted set is scheduled for a release by Halloween 2026. It’s worth noting, however that it does have a limited print run, however, so if you want to get your hands on it, you’ll probably want to pre-order it as soon as possible.

Final Thoughts

Curse of Strahd remains one of the greatest D&D 5E campaigns of all time, so it’s no surprise that the original Beadle & Grimm’s box set was so popular and why a reprint is now in the works. It’s also worth noting that this isn’t B&G’s only visit to the Domains of Dread, with the company recently releasing a Strahd Silver Edition box set as a tie-in to the Ravenloft: The Horrors Within supplement.
