Beadle & Grimm’s Launches New D&D Battle Boards

Beadle & Grimm’s has just unveiled a brand-new accessory designed to make managing your Dungeons & Dragons character easier. Their new D&D Battle Boards are essentially durable and reusable character sheets that allow players to quickly track changes to stats and other key resources using a dry erase marker.

Notably, the boards feature the official Dungeons & Dragons brand license and use the new D&D 2024 character sheet layout. The initial run consists of options for the Cleric, Fighter, Rogue and Wizard, with other classes coming soon. Each board also comes equipped with a class-specific dry erase marker and holder. You can pick them up now from your local game store or on the B&G website.

So are these new D&D Battle Boards worth picking up? Below, we scribble down all the details.

What Are Beadle & Grimm’s D&D Battle Boards?

Each D&D Battle Board is an 8.5″ x 11″ dry-erase panel (which is essentially the same size as a standard printed character sheet) offering a fast, at-a-glance way to update combat-relevant stats and abilities. While a standard character sheet tracks long-term or static information (like skills, saving throws, ability scores and known spells) the Battle Board focuses on everything that fluctuates during a session. It includes designated areas for:

  • Hit Points, Hit Dice spent, and Death Saves
  • Temporary modifiers and magical buffs
  • Heroic Inspiration
  • Reaction usage per round
  • Initiative tracking
  • Class-specific mechanics (such as Spell Slots or Channel Divinity)
  • Class abilities that frequently change (including concentration spells)
  • Item charges (making wands and magic items easier to manage)
  • A full list of conditions (each with its listed in-game effect)

How much are the new D&D Battle Boards?

The D&D Battle Boards retail for $20 USD (not including shipping and handling), which seems like a solid deal considering the functionality and reusability.

Final Thoughts

While Beadle & Grimm’s is best known for their high end D&D book collections, over the years they’ve also produced a number of solid accessories. Their new D&D Battle Boards look to continue that tradition, offering up something that’s simple, cost effective and genuinely useful at the table. In fact, it’s surprising that someone hasn’t released something like this sooner.

We’ll try and get our hands on a review copy so we can see what they’re like at the table. In the meantime, you can pick them up now from your local game store or on the B&G website.

In the meantime, below is also a video from the official B&G YouTube channel, showing the boards in action.
