New Dragonlance Legends Collector’s Edition Coming Soon

Publisher Penguin Random House has recently announced that a new Collector’s Edition of the popular Dragonlance Legends trilogy of novels is coming out in the winter of 2026. The book is a follow up to last year’s 40th anniversary edition of the original Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy and is part of a new “Classic Dragonlance” line of reprints.

The upcoming hardcover edition collects the original Legends trilogy (consisting of Time of the Twins, War of the Twins and Test of the Twins) and tells the story of the tragic relationship between the brothers Raistlin and Caramon Majere. You can pre-order it now from your local bookstore, game store or on Amazon.

So what can fans expect in this reissue of one of Krynn’s greatest legends? Below, we take a closer look at all the details.

What’s included in the Dragonlance Legends Collector’s edition?

The Dragonlance Legends Collector’s edition is 1,120 pages and reprints the original Legends trilogy which was first published by TSR books back in 1986. Notably the new 2026 hardcover also includes a foreword from original authors Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman with a behind-the-scenes retrospective on the making of the series.

The official publisher page synopsis reads as follows:

Rediscover the world of Dragonlance with the second trilogy of one of the most popular fantasy series of all time—featuring a new foreword with exclusive behind-the-scenes stories from the original Dragonlance team.

The Twins: Raistlin Majere, powerful archmage. He abandons his brother to walk the paths of darkness. As his lust for power grows, he plans to challenge the gods in a battle that could destroy the world. And Caramon Majere, courageous warrior. He must find a way to stop his brother and save mankind. But first he must save himself. Crysania, cleric of the gods of good. Her own ambitious goals blind her to the truth.  Tasslehoff Burrfoot, kender and friend to all. He tries to help with near disastrous results.

Dragonlance Legends is an epic tale of magic, love, war, and sacrifice. And the perilous journey through time that will forever change them all.

When will the Dragonlance Legends Collectors Edition be released?

The book will be released on February 10th, 2026, at which time it will be available at both online and physical retailers. Notably, the book was first announced by Margaret Weis on her Facebook page and she later discussed the book during her appearance at Gen Con 2025.

How much is the new Dragonlance Legends Collectors Edition?

The new Dragonlance Legends Collector’s edition retails for $40.00 USD (notably this is a little more than to the Dragonlance Chronicles 40th Edition which retailed for $35.00 USD when it was released in 2024).

Final Thoughts

The past few years have seen a major resurgence in the world of Dragonlance, with the Shadow of the Dragon Queen campaign in 2022 , a new trilogy of books from Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman wrapped up in 2024, and another trilogy in the works starting in 2026. We even saw Hollywood circling around a potential Dragonlance TV series from actor Joe Manganiello.

Still, there’s something to be said about introducing the classics of Dragonlance lore to a whole new audience and it’s great to see the story of Raistlin and Caramon being told in a whole new way.

You can pre-order the Dragonlance Legends Collector’s Edition now from your local bookstore, game store or Amazon.
