Wasted Wizard Launches New DnD Condition Rings Starter Set

If you’re a Dungeons & Dragons player who uses miniatures during your games, you might have heard about DnD condition rings. Designed to fit directly under a mini, they offer a quick and easy way to see exactly what effects are on a character, NPC or monster.

Over the years, a number of different third-party TTRPG companies have released their own versions of this niche product. The latest entry comes from the accessory maker Wasting Wizard, which has created a new DnD Condition Rings Starter Set that’s designed specifically to work with the 2014 and 2024 DnD 5e rules and has enough options for just about any situation. They’re also the first condition ring product that’s completely stackable, meaning you have multiple effects on a single mini. You can order them now from your local game store, Wasted Wizard or Amazon.

So is there one DnD condition ring to rule them all? Below, we take a closer look at what’s included.

What’s included in this new DnD Condition Rings Starter Set?

Wasted Wizard’s new starter set contains 120 rings divided into 30 different conditions and spells. This covers everything from familiar DnD effects like being Poisoned or Frightened, to rarer situations such as being Polymorphed or Banished. There are also two sets of generic conditions simply listed as “Magic” or “Physical” which can be used for any random conditions that might not otherwise be included. All of the rings are made out of durable plastic, with each condition having their own unique color along with a name and icon printed in multiple locations for ease of visibility.

Unlike other condition rings, however, Wasted Wizards are also fully stackable, meaning you can combine spells and conditions (for example, if a monster is both Hexed and Frightened). The rings are also much smaller than other products (which tend to be dropped around the base of a mini rather than placed directly under them). This means that minis can potentially be moved significantly closer to each other on a combat grid.

The rings can also fit pretty much any sized miniature (although they’re designed for a standard 20-25 mm base) and also include extra felt pads which you can add to the bottom to protect your terrain, battlemap and minis.

How much are Wasted Wizards DnD Condition Rings?

Each Starter Set retails for $34.99 USD (not including shipping and handling), which is a pretty solid price point considering how many options you’re getting (for context, that works out to about 30 cents a ring). Similar products, such as Futhark’s Condition Rings, have an almost identical price point but are made out of cheaper rubber, aren’t as small and aren’t stackable.

Final Thoughts

Tracking conditions in Dungeons & Dragons can be a pain, especially if you’re using miniatures and gridded combat. Wasted Wizards’ new DnD condition rings are a solid alternative that are affordable and include stackability that isn’t available in other products.

You can order them now from your local game store, Wasted Wizard or Amazon.
