While playing in a long term Dungeons & Dragons campaign is always an amazing experience, sometimes you just want a quick and easy adventure that can be wrapped up in a single session. Enter One-Shot Wonders, a collection of adventures from Roll & Play Press that was first Kickstarted in 2023 but has now arrived on D&D Beyond.
It marks yet another major third-party publication to make it on Wizards of the Coast’s digital platform, although notably the original book has been sliced and diced into three separate products, each of which includes maps, NPCs, monsters and adventure outlines.
So are these short and sweet one shots truly a wonder to behold? Below, we take a look at all the details.

What One-Shot Wonders are featured D&D Beyond?
The original One-Shot Wonders is a book from Roll & Play Press that features over 100 individual one shot adventures. The D&D Beyond version, however, has taken the book and broken it out into three separate products, each of which includes 10 standalone adventures (ranging from Levels 1 to 8). Each adventure can be wrapped up in about 3 hours, although the books also offer suggestions on how to link them together into a single campaign. Each book also digital maps that were are actually taken from Roll & Play Press’ separate Map Library box set.
The three digital books on D&D Beyond are as follows:
It’s important to note that all use the DnD 2014 rules (although with a little work you can easily port them over to the new DnD 2024 mechanics).

How much are One-Shot Wonders on D&D Beyond
Each of the One-Shot Wonders books on D&D Beyond retails for $9.99 USD. Notably, the original One-Shot Wonders physical hardcover book retails for $74.99 USD (not including shipping and handling), with the PDF version going for $44.99 USD.
As noted above, you’ll also get a few digital maps that are based on the Map Library box set (with the digital version of that product going for $84.99 USD). So the price point here isn’t bad if you’re looking to pick up one or all of the books on D&D Beyond.

Final Thoughts
There are a ton of amazing one shot adventures, but not many available on D&D Beyond, so it’s great to see this offering, with the ability to grab adventures for a variety of environments and levels. It’s also fantastic to see Wizards of the Coast continue to promote and publish third-party publishers like Roll & Play.
