A new officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons beer will be coming out later this summer from Michigan-based New Holland Brewing. This marks the second team up between Wizards of the Coast and the award-winning craft brewery following their Dragon’s Milk Stout which was released in 2024 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of D&D.
The new beer is a Coconut Rum Barrel Reserve stout inspired by the lore of Dragon Turtles from D&D and is also part of New Holland’s popular Dragon’s Milk line. The stout is a limited-edition release that will be available online or at select retailers starting in late August of this year.
So what exactly can fans expect from these new D&D brews? Below, we crack open all the details.

What is the new D&D Coconut Rum Barrel Reserve stout?
In an official press release, New Holland CEO Brett Vanderkamp writes that: “This collaboration is all about celebrating the power of storytelling through flavor. With the Dragon
Turtle as our muse, we created a rich, coconut stout aged in rum barrels that’s as deep and complex as the world of D&D itself.” Notably, a stout is a dark, thicker beer brewed using malt and smoked barley, with fermentation often taking place in barrels that have been used in the creation of other spirits.
As part of the release of the new Dragon Turtle stout, a line of collaborative merchandise will also be available for preorder starting September 3rd, 2025. The collection will feature limited-edition glassware, apparel and dice tray coasters using official D&D artwork.

What is Dragon’s Milk?
Dragon’s Milk is an award-wining line of alcoholic beverages created by the New Holland Brewing Company that consists of a range of stouts and whiskeys. Over the years it’s become incredibly popular, including earning a Gold at the New York International Beer Competition and Silver at the Great American Beer Festival. Additionally, Dragon’s Milk Origin Small Batch Bourbon received the highest honor – a double gold medal – at the 2022 New York International Spirits Competition, was recognized as the “Best in Class” bourbon at the 2023 American Distilling Institute’s (ADI) International Spirits Competition and received a Platinum medal at Fred Minnick’s Ascot Awards in 2023.
Notably, the name was derived from a story told in medieval times in which a knight’s reward for slaying a dragon was the treasured “milk of the dragon,” and the Dragon’s Milk product line has expanded significantly over the past few years, offering a variety of new brews. In 2024, the Dragon’s Milk line official collaborated with Dungeons & Dragons on a series of products.

Final Thoughts
The new Dungeons & Dragons Coconut Rum Barrel Reserve is the first in a series of new brews that are in the works between Dragon’s Milk and Wizards of the Coast, with further releases expected in the fall of 2025.
In the meantime, if you’re looking to grab a case for your next D&D game, you can learn more on the Dragon’s Milk site and you see if they carry it at a retailer near you using New Holland’s store locator.
