New AirD&D Resort Offers the Ultimate RPG Getaway

If you’ve ever dreamed of a vacation that involves plenty of rest, relaxation and roleplaying, then you may just be in luck. A new “AirD&D” vacation rental has just opened in British Columbia, Canada that’s designed exclusively as an all-inclusive TTRPG getaway. A sprawling 12 room mansion, it features enough space for 50 people and includes hidden rooms, a fantasy tavern, a custom gaming table, built-in sauna, D&D branded basketball court, and even a giant D20-shaped fire pit.

Of course, getting everyone together for a regular game night is hard enough, but if you are able to convince your group to make the trip (and shell out enough gold pieces), it looks like an absolute D&D dream come true. Below, we check in and take a closer look at what’s included.

What Is AirD&D?

AirD&D is billed as “the world’s only D&D-themed mansion.” Located near the town of Cultus Lake, British Columbia, the property spans two acres and can accommodate up to 50 guests, with 12 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms spread across the estate. It’s owned and operated by Maple Rock Resorts (a Canadian company which runs a number of luxury Airbnb properties) and is billed as a fully immersive group destination rather than a novelty rental. Highlights include:

  • A dedicated D&D tavern with bar, arcade machines and a massive gaming table (complete with DM throne)
  • Hidden rooms and vanishing staircases integrated throughout the mansion
  • 150-inch movie theatre and 150-seat amphitheater for events or screenings

  • Hot tub, sauna and cold plunge for post-session recovery
  • Indoor and outdoor bars, plus multiple fridges and dining spaces
  • Full sports complex, including basketball, pickleball, golf green and disc golf

  • Arcade and table games, with 14 arcade machines, pool, poker and ping pong
  • Oversized outdoor games, including life-size chess, Connect 4, giant Jenga, cornhole and bocce
  • D20 fire pit, with complete outdoor dining area

Notably, the entire property is also D&D themed, with unique rooms (such as a “The Druid’s Grove,” “The Dragon’s Den” and “the Bard’s Parlour”) and almost everything in the mansion is branded with D&D (including a D&D fridge and even D&D soap dispensers).

Pricing varies based on dates, length of stay and total guest count (the more people who stay, the pricier it is), but with 50 people you’re looking at around $2,800 CAD (or $2000 USD) a night, which isn’t bad considering what you get and if you’re willing to split the cost among a group of people. Of course, that doesn’t include the actual cost to get the location, which is about an hour and a half away from Vancouver.

Final Thoughts

AirD&D isn’t the first D&D getaway, and over the years we’ve seen similar venues, including D&D in a Castle and Green Dragon Fest. This is, however, one of the first all-year vacation rentals which is dedicated entirely to D&D and shows just how widespread and popular the game has become.

Assuming you can get your party together, you can learn more and book the location for yourself now on the Maple Rock Resorts website. Below is also an Instagram video showing the location up close.
