D&D “The Immersive Quest” Coming to Toronto

Dungeons & Dragons fans in the Great White North will soon be getting an interactive touring experience in Toronto. Dubbed Dungeons & Dragons: The Immersive Quest, the event is an all-ages interactive experience that combines visual, auditory and tactile elements to fully immerse participants in the unique world of D&D.

The event will run from December 2024 to March 2025, and is designed by Vibrant Studios, a company which has produced a number of other high-profile interactive experiences. Tickets are available for purchase now via a new official website.

So just what can Canadian D&D fans expect from when the Immersive Quest hits? Below, we break out everything we know so far.

What Is “Dungeons & Dragons: The Immersive Quest”?

Dungeons & Dragons: The Immersive Quest is a 60 minute interactive experience running in the winter of 2025 in the Square One GYGO Entertainment complex in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (a suburb of Toronto). The event uses a combination of audio, visual and physical elements to simulate unique environments and situations based on D&D lore.

The experience begins with players deciding what “path” to take, letting them choose between: Rogue, Druid, Fighter or Wizard. Each choice grants unique powers and abilities that can be used throughout the experience and are triggered via sensors and other electronic devices. Players then enter into the infamous Yawning Portal tavern from the Forgotten Realms and from there must navigate massive rooms that simulate a dungeon environment. Along the way, players will meet various characters and creatures before having a final showdown with a legendary dragon.

After completing the quest, players can also pick up exclusive D&D-themed drinks, snacks and merchandise and even book rooms to play the traditional D&D roleplaying game with other participants.

This does mark the first time the Wizards of the Coast has officially licensed out a D&D event like this anywhere in the world, so it’s expected it will sell our quickly.

There are currently a variety of pricing options available. General admission tickets start at $49.99 CAD, although if you pre-book before the official launch date on December 18th you can get them for $39.99 CAD. Final Thoughts

The Immersive Quest isn’t the only live D&D multimedia event taking place this year. In fact, there are several similar events, including the off-Broadway improv show The Twenty Sided Tavern, which opened in New York and is set to tour the US starting in 2025. Similarly, the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park also recently announced plans for Fan Fest Nights that includes interactive D&D elements for after-hour guests.

Dungeons & Dragons: The Immersive Quest, however, is an entirely different beast, and the first time we’ve ever seen anything like this with the D&D brand. It’s possible that if it’s successful in Canada it may continue as a touring show throughout North America and other parts of the world. In the meantime, if you are located in the Toronto area or planning to visit this winter, you can pick up your tickets now via the official website.

Cameron Nichols is a Senior Editor who lives in Boston, Massachusetts, and has been playing D&D since the early 90s, when he was introduced by his older brother and cut his teeth on AD&D 2nd Edition. Since then he’s played virtually every RPG he could get his nerdy little mitts on (including a weird Goth phase in the early 2000s when he rocked Vampire: The Masquerade pretty hard). His favorite D&D campaign setting is the Forgotten Realms and his favorite character to play was a Half-Orc Barbarian named Grug (who was unfortunately devoured by a gelatinous cube).
