FanRoll Gets Fabulous with New Fizban D&D Mystery Dice

Popular third-party dice maker FanRoll is paying homage to one of Dungeons & Dragon’s most iconic wizards with their new Fizban’s Treasure Mystery D20 Boxes. As the name suggests, each set contains one random 20-sided die made of various materials (including metal and gemstone) and comes in a limited edition collector’s case. The sets are made with the official D&D license from Wizards of the Coast and named after the legendary magic user Fizban the Fabulous of Dragonlance fame. The dice be coming out later this fall, although you can pre-order them now from the FanRoll website or Merchoid.

So do these new D&D mystery dice live up to the name of Krynn’s most famous wizard? Below, we crack them open to find out.

What are the new Fizban’s Treasure Mystery Dice Sets?

Each Fizban’s Treasure Mystery D20 blind box contains a single oversized 25mm twenty-sized dice (for reference, a standard D20 is about 20mm). The dice that are included are completely randomized and feature a wide range of materials including metal, liquid core, hollow dice and gemstone, each of which has its own unique finish and rarity. There are 34 dice in total across 7 different levels of rarity, and each D20 comes in a treasure chest-style box.

Notably, these dice haven’t been released before and each is inspired by the D&D sourcebook Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, which included commentary from the eccentric wizard along with new rules, stats and magic items related to dragonkind.

How much are the new Fizban Mystery Dice sets?

Each blind box retails for $24.99 USD, which is pretty pricey for a single dice, but also not entirely out of the ream given the materials that the dice are made out of.

When are the Fizban Mystery Dice sets coming out?

The sets will be available for purchase at local game stores and online retailers on November 15th, 2025.

Who is Fizban the Fabulous?

Fizban the Fabulous is a bumbling but incredibly powerful wizard who first appeared in the Dragonlance campaign setting for Dungeons & Dragons. On the surface, he seems absent-minded, clumsy and prone to causing chaos with his spells and eccentric behavior. In reality, however, Fizban is actually Paladine, the platinum dragon god of good. As Fizban, he wanders the world in mortal form to guide and protect the heroes of Krynn and played a crucial role in shaping events during the legendary War of the Lance.

In terms of his publication history, Fizban debuted in Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman’s Dragonlance Chronicles novels in 1984 and has since appeared in numerous other books and D&D campaign supplements. More recently in 2021, Wizards of the Coast revived the character for Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, a D&D 5e supplement that included commentary from the eccentric wizard.

Final Thoughts

While these single D20 are on the pricey side, they do look incredible and might be shiny enough to tempt even Fizban himself. If you’re interested in picking up the new D&D mystery dice, you can pre-order them now from the FanRoll website or Merchoid.
