The New D&D Season of Magic (Everything We Know So Far)

Wizards of the Coast recently rolled out their complete D&D 2026 Roadmap, featuring a number of new books, accessories and organized play events. A key part of the rollout, however, is the introduction of new D&D Seasons – three-month periods built around a unique theme. The summer and early fall of 2026 in particular will be officially known as the Season of Magic, which will tie-in to the theme of high magic and feature the new Arcana Unleashed supplement and Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall adventure as core products.

So just what else can we expect when the Season of Magic casts its spell upon us? Below, we conjure up all the details.

What D&D events will be taking place during the Season of Magic?

Wizards of the Coast has not yet confirmed what official events will be taking place. We do, however, know that the Season of Magic will be a key part of the recently relaunched D&D Encounters program. This program will include exclusive game material, accessories and organized play events at local game stores. For the Season of Magic, Wizards of the Coast has said this we’ll see short, drop-in adventure materials and exclusive store-only materials that tie in directly to the two Arcana Unleashed products.

It’s not clear what other accessories or adventures will be released as part of the season, but we’ll update this page with exact details once we know more.

Final Thoughts

The Season of Magic will actually be the second of its kind, following the inaugural Season of Horror which runs from April to June 2026, with the new Ravenloft: The Horrors Within sourcebook as its centerpiece. Whether players will be legitimately spellbound by this new initiative, however, remains to be sesen.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on updates around the new D&D seasons in the days ahead and will update this page with new information as it’s made available.
