Popular miniatures skirmish game HeroClix is officially tapping into the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse, with publisher WizKids recently unveiling D&D HeroClix: Series One. The upcoming sets will feature a brand new line of 60 pre-painted minis featuring monsters and characters taken from the world of D&D. The series is scheduled for release in October 2026, but you can pre-order them now from your local game store and the WizKids website.
Notably, HeroClix has featured sets for a number of popular IPs, including Marvel, DC Comics, Lord of the Rings and Star Trek. Apart from a handful of collector sets, however, Dungeons & Dragons has never really appeared as a full series in HeroClix, which is a bit surprising given that WizKids produces a ton of D&D miniatures and accessories. As such, this marks the first major collaboration between the two brands.
So what can fans of both games expect when D&D HeroClix: Series One hit shelves later this Fall? Below, we take a closer look at what to expect.

What is HeroClix?
HeroClix is miniatures-based tabletop wargame where players build small teams of 3 to 5 figures. One key element that differentiates it from other mini-based skirmish games however is the use of a Combat Dial system located in the base of each figure (a concept first introduced in the Mage Knight miniatures game). This dial tracks all of a character’s vital statistics, such as Speed, Attack and Defense, essentially eliminating the need for any print materials. As a character takes damage from an opponent they “click” the dial clockwise. The rules are relatively simple, with all actions resolved on pre-made, gridded scenario maps that are 35 mm x 35 mm in size.
The game was first published in 2002 by WizKids and over the years has developed a solid fan base, with over 750 million figures sold worldwide. The game has also expanded to include a wide range of pop culture franchises, including expansions for video games like Halo, Street Fighter, and Gears of War as well as popular IPs like Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the WWE. Figures come in blind boxes which feature rarity types including: Secret Commons, Primes and extremely rare “Chase” variants.
Notably, Dungeons & Dragons did briefly collaborate with HeroClix for the Eye of the Bolder, Cave of the Owlbears and Den of the Displacer Beast sets, which were released in 2024 and 2025 as part of the HeroClix Iconix line. Each contained a few miniatures and a dice. These were, however, really meant more as collectibles rather than a full expansion for the game.

What’s included in D&D HeroClix: Series One?
The D&D HeroClix: Series One set will contain 60 different pre-painted miniatures that are designed to be fully compatible with existing HeroClix lines. In terms of rarities, the set includes Secret Commons, Primes and Chase miniatures, the latter of which features new Chromatic Dragon Wyrmlings. Figures include monsters such as goblins, kobolds and orcs, as well as adventurers featuring a mix of species and classes, including an Elf Wizard, Human Paladin, Halfling Warlock and Dwarf Cleric.
Each booster pack contains three regular miniatures, one oversized miniature on a larger combat dial, an object token with its corresponding card and a One-Shot card featuring well-known D&D spells such as Fireball and Magic Missile.

How much are the D&D HeroClix sets?
WizKids is releasing this series in the standard Booster Brick format. A Booster Brick contains 8 individual boosters and has a suggested retail price $223.92 USD. Individual boosters will likely also be available at local game stores for around $27.99 USD each.
When is D&D HeroClix: Series One coming out?
D&D Dragons HeroClix: Series One is scheduled to hit store shelves in October 2026. We’ll update this page with an exact date once it’s been confirmed.

Final Thoughts
The introduction of a full D&D series seems like a natural fit for HeroClix and it’s surprising we haven’t seen something like this until now. Whether the new minis will click with fans of both games, however, is something that remains to be seen.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on the new series in the days ahead, but in the meantime you can pre-order them now from your local game store and the WizKids website.
