New FanRoll Dice DnD Advent Calendar (2024 Review)

The countdown to Christmas is always a special time of year. And for Dungeons & Dragons fans there’s no better way to mark the approach of the holidays than by using a good old fashioned DnD advent calendar. And while the internet is full of cheap, poorly made options, the crème de la Christmas has got to be from FanRoll, a third-party company known for its high-quality RPG dice and accessories.

This year is no exception, with FanRoll releasing a new 2024 DnD advent calendar, which counts down the days to Christmas with a custom dice each day. It also includes a festive bag to store your new newfound math rocks. The box set is available from your local game store, the FanRoll website or Amazon.

So is this calendar worth adding to your winter wish list? Below, we unwrap all the details.

What is the new FanRoll dice DnD Advent?

The new FanRoll DnD advent calendar is an annual product which they release each year. The 2024 version features a new red design with a sturdy, well-built cardboard box and includes 25 daily panels, each of which contains a single dice with a festive theme, such as transparent dice with Christmas presents, trees and ornaments. When combined you get two full sets of assorted dice (a d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20), plus one exclusive mini set (which, spoiler alert, you get on December 1st).

The calendar also contains a limited-edition holiday collector’s bag to store all of your dice, which is found in the “Start Here” slot at the top of the box. What’s more, the final dice in the calendar is a high-end, metal festive dice which is exclusive just to this particular FanRoll set.

How much is the new FanRoll dice DnD advent calendar?

The box retails for $59.99 USD, although as with all products, may be able to pick it up cheaper via your local game store or online retailer. This is a bit more expensive than some of the cheaper DnD advent calendars you’ll find on Amazon or Etsy, but as with all things life you get what you pay for, and the quality of FanRoll’s calendar is likely going to blow almost anything else away.

Where can you get the new FanRoll advent calendar?

The calendar is available at most online retailers and local game and hobby stores (we snagged this review copy from a local game store in the Chicago area). You can also order it from the FanRoll website or Amazon. They do produce a new set each year, so you may be able to snag this version on discount next year (if any inventory is still kicking around then).

Final Thoughts & Review Score

While we were tempted to go through FanRoll’s DnD advent calendar one day at a time, to get a complete picture we opened them all up (it’s not nearlyas fun, but definitely provides a better review). The end is result is a solid product (especially considering how surprisingly limited the other DnD advent calendar options are). It’s not surprising though. If you’ve ever bought FanRoll products before, you’ll know they’ve been producing solid dice and accessories for years and this new calendar definitely lives up to that reputation.

One minor quibble is that a few of the dice had slight imperfections in them, but for the most part they look and roll beautifully. One other very minor issue is that some of the panels can be a little tricky to open and fish the dice out, but that’s might just be because of our sausage fingers. The bottom line though is this is an absolutely gorgeous advent calendar that’s the perfect choice for any dice-loving Dungeons & Dragons nerd.

You can pick up FanRoll’s 2024 DnD adventre calendar now from your local game/hobby store, the FanRoll website or Amazon.

Final Review Score: 19 out of 20
