New FanRoll Mystery Dice Pay Homage to a D&D Legend

Dice maker FanRoll is rolling out a new box set inspired by one of the most famous (and fabulous) Dungeons & Dragons wizards of all time. The new Fizban’s Fortune Dragon D20’s feature the official D&D license and are named after the titular sorcerer of Dragonlance fame.
Each blind box contains a single oversized D20 constructed from high-end materials, with a variety of random rarities available. Notably, the sets were released earlier this year, but sold out over 50,000 sets in a relatively short period of time. The company has since restocked their supply and you can snag these new versions now from your local game store and FanRoll.
So are these high-end math rocks worth adding to your Dice Bag of Holding? Below, we roll up all the details.

What are the new Fizban’s Fortune Dragon D20s?
Each blind box contains a single oversized 25mm twenty-sized die (for reference, a standard D20 is about 20mm). The dice that are included are completely randomized and feature a wide range of materials, ranging from gemstone and liquid core to hollow metal and solid cast alloys.
There are 34 dice in total across 6 different levels of rarity (in order of least to most rare there are 5 common, 10 uncommon, 5 legendary, 8 rare, 5 epic and 1 mythic). Each die also has engraved numbers on the faces and the 20 is the iconic D&D ampersand.
Notably, the dice are also inspired by the D&D sourcebook Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, which included commentary from the eccentric wizard along with new rules, stats and magic items related to dragonkind. Each of the new FanRoll dice is based on a specific dragon type found in the book.

How much are the new Fizban’s Fortune Dragon D20s?
Each blind box retails for $24.99 USD (not including shipping and handling). That may seem a little pricey for a single D20, but it isn’t a bad price point when you consider the quality of the materials, the collectability (including the official D&D license) and the fact that they’re oversized dice.
When were the Fizban’s Fortune Dragon D20s released?
An initial run of the dice was released in early 2026, but quickly sold out. FanRoll has since produced a new batch of the dice, which are now available online and at most major retailers.

Who is Fizban the Fabulous?
Fizban the Fabulous is a bumbling but incredibly powerful wizard who first appeared in the Dragonlance campaign setting for Dungeons & Dragons. On the surface, he seems absent-minded, clumsy and prone to causing chaos with his spells and eccentric behavior. In reality, however, Fizban is actually Paladine, the platinum dragon god of good. As Fizban, he wanders the world in mortal form to guide and protect the heroes of Krynn and played a crucial role in shaping events during the legendary War of the Lance.
In terms of his publication history, Fizban debuted in Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman’s Dragonlance Chronicles novels in 1984 and has since appeared in numerous other books and D&D campaign supplements. More recently in 2021, Wizards of the Coast revived the character for Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, a D&D 5e supplement that included commentary from the legendary wizard.

Who is FanRoll?
FanRoll (formerly known as Metallic Dice Games) is a US-based company specializing in premium dice and tabletop gaming accessories. Founded in 2014 by Adam Hackett, the company originally built its reputation on high-quality metal dice before expanding into polymer, glass and gemstone sets.
In 2023, an investor group led by toy industry veteran Neal Hoffman acquired the business and rebranded it as FanRoll. The company has since expanded significantly and now includes hundreds of different dice and accessory products, moving far beyond the company’s metallic roots.
In recent years, FanRoll has secured licensing agreements with a number of major brands, including a partnership with Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast to produce official Dungeons & Dragons dice, as well as working with Paizo to release Pathfinder products. They have also produced custom dice for a number of major TTRPG Kickstarters and crowdfunder campaigns.

Final Thoughts
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen FanRoll take on Fizban. In fact, the dice maker released a similar set called Fizban’s Treasure D20s in late 2025. These new versions, however, are designed to pick up where the previous set left off, featuring a variety of new high-end materials and designs.
You can get fabulous yourself and pick up these new D20s now from your local game store and the FanRoll website.
