The DnD Release Schedule: All Upcoming Books for 2024

We take a look ahead at the new Dungeons & Dragons books coming out this year

For DnD publisher Wizards of the Coast, 2023 was a year with plenty of ups and downs, with everything from the fallout of the OGL scandal to the critical acclaim following the theatrical release of Honor Among Thieves. Amid the drama, the publisher also released several new major DnD supplements including the heist-themed anthology Keys from the Golden Vault, the giant-inspired supplement Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants, an updated campaign for Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, and a return to Sigil with Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse.

With 2024 now upon us, Wizards has since announced plans for a variety of new books, with major titles unveiled at their annual D&D Direct event and PAX Unplugged. These books will be critical as they integrate with a new rules update for fifth edition and help kick off the 50th Anniversary celebration of DnD itself.

So just what can we expect to see next for the world’s most popular TTRPG? Below we take a closer look at the complete DnD release schedule, breaking out all the upcoming books for 2024 and early 2025.

Final Thoughts

It’s important to note that the DnD release schedule for 2024 may see changes in the coming months. In fact, the dates for many of these projects were initially posted on Wizards of the Coast’s official social media channels before quickly being taken down, so definitely aren’t set in stone. It’s also worth noting that virtually all of the 2023 products saw their release dates shifted out from the original 2023 DnD roadmap due to ongoing printing and supply chain issues.

That being said, we’ll be keeping a close eye on these releases and updating this page with new information and launch dates as it’s made available.

Cameron Nichols is a Senior Editor who lives in Boston, Massachusetts, and has been playing D&D since the early 90s, when he was introduced by his older brother and cut his teeth on AD&D 2nd Edition. Since then he’s played virtually every RPG he could get his nerdy little mitts on (including a weird Goth phase in the early 2000s when he rocked Vampire: The Masquerade pretty hard). His favorite D&D campaign setting is the Forgotten Realms and his favorite character to play was a Half-Orc Barbarian named Grug (who was unfortunately devoured by a gelatinous cube).
